Jim Lee

Mr. James (Jim) Evans Lee, age 88 of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away very peacefully late Thursday evening, October 1, 2026. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

James Evans Lee was born on October 28, 1937, in Lakeland, Florida. His parents were Henry Evans Lee, who was born in Samson, Alabama, and his mother, Bessie Ruth Waddell Lee, born in Anniston, Alabama. Jim graduated from Ft. White High School in 1956. He retired from CSX after 42 years of faithful service as a freight agent. Jim was a member of the Bainbridge Lions' Club and the Decatur County Roping Club. He loved the outdoors and was his happiest when he was fishing and hunting. He was well respected by the community and a Christian man. Jim married the love of his life, Emma Ruth Smith on April 27, 1960, and they were married 56 years until her death on July 14, 2016. He was an avid Florida Gator and shared his devotion to the Atlanta Braves with his daughter, Pamela. Mr. Lee will be sorely missed.

Jim Lee is survived by his daughter, Pamela Ruth Lee of Bainbridge; his son-in-law, Joe Reid and special grandson, Justin James Reid, both of Traverse City, Michigan; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his daughter, Susan Melinda Lee Reid.
