He married Susan Darley in 1976. Chub was a member of New Fountainhead Baptist Church.Chub Maxwell was a farmer by trade and loved everything about the outdoors. His family, which included his friends, was very important to him. He loved to hunt, fish, and cook. He especially enjoyed these activities when others joined in the fun. He was a gun and knife collector and always included a good story with his wares. Chub was known to watch the Gaither Gospel Hour with Buster and was caught every now and then humming the tunes to the old gospel music he loved. The only thing Chub loved more than his family, his friends and his farm was food and he could cook about anything. He was most proud of his boston butts, brunswick stew and his homemade sausage recipe and excited he finally mastered the brisket. He will always be remembered as the head chef of the "Cookhouse Gang".Survivors include his wife, Susan D.
