Mr. James Otto Mitchell,Sr. Mr. James Otto Mitchell, Sr., age 81, passed away on February 25, 2024 in Bainbridge, Georgia. A memorial service for Mr. Mitchell will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge. James Otto Mitchell was born on March 25, 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina to Otto Mitchell and Kate Kellet Mitchell. He was married to Martha Wilson Mitchell who has preceded him in death. Jim attended Clemson University. In 1973, he and his family moved to Bainbridge from Greenville, South Carolina to manage the local Belk store. Upon his retirement from Belk, Jim never really retired. He dabbled in real estate, sold personal computers, and owned the Sno Biz in Bainbridge. Jim was always busy. He was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge where he served in many roles. He loved and took great care of his family. He is survived by his son, James O. Mitchell, Jr. of Tallahassee and his twin grandsons, Evan Mitchell and Austin Mitchell of Tallahassee. He was predeceased by his wife, his parents and his daughter, Kathryn E. Mitchell.
