James Soden

Mr. James Leroy Soden, age 86, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service was held on Monday, November 18, in Roselawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Jonathan Craig officiated. James Leroy Soden was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 1, 1933. His parents, Willis Soden and Evelyn Caroline Wilson Soden, have preceded him in death. In January, 1952, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Faye Drone Soden. Dorothy has passed. James proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Michelin Tire Company in Dothan, Alabama. A hard worker, loving father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed. James Leroy Soden is survived by his children, Scott Anderson (Pilar) of Greenville, South Carolina, Randy Soden of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Richard Soden (Saundra) of Tallassee, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Ruth Soden; grandchildren, Joey Louis, Jimmy Anderson (Regina), Robbie Soden (Maram), Anna Soden, Christopher Soden, Catherine Soden Gopal (Kartik), Elisabeth Soden Perry (Jonathan), Paul Randall Soden, Alexander Soden, Candace Soden, and Mike Soden; great-grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, Madison Anderson, Julia Anderson, Reahgan Anderson, Graham Gopal, and Vivian Perry; and family friends, Steve and Charlotte Burgess. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Soden and Evelyn Caroline Wilson; wife, Dorothy F. Soden; and son, Robert Willis Soden.
