James Turknett

James E. "Jay" Turknett, Jr., 42, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warren Fox officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1989, and Bainbridge College. Jay was a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps. and was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Judy W. Zorn and her husband, Mark, of Bainbridge, GA; his father, Jim Turknett and his wife, Susan, of Thomasville, GA; his nephew, Brendan Wyman of Alpharetta, GA; his brother-in-law, Ken Wyman of Alpharetta, GA; his step-sisters, Michelle Lane and her husband, Billy, of Bainbridge, GA and Marla Zorn of Perry, FL; the Winston Brock family, the Bob Turknett family, the Don Turknett family, and the Will Armintrout family. Jay was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Wyman; his paternal grandparents, Lester and Bessie Ruth Turknett; and his maternal grandparents, J.C. and Sara Wilson.
