James B. "Jimmy" Ward, Jr., 82, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Marty Mobley, Robby Rowe, Larry Williams, Mike Crosby, Jack Williams, and Benny Hayes serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Ward was born February 19, 1929 in Jakin, GA, the son of James Blackmon Ward and Annie Richardson Ward. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Class of 1947. Mr. Ward served in the United States Navy and was a technician with the City of Bainbridge waste water treatment plant for many years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Clark Ward of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Stacy B. Ward of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Wanda W. Cannon and her husband, Wayne, of Bainbridge, GA; his sisters, Joann Williams of Donalsonville, GA, Mary Emma Hooks of Donalsonville, GA, and Glenda Nordham of Dacula, GA; his brother, Tommy Ward of Bainbridge, GA; his grandchildren, Keri Cannon Rowe, Kelli Cannon Mobley, Alana Brooke Ward, Preston Portivent, Collin B. Ward; his great-grandchildren, Griffin Rowe, Bryce Rowe, and Cole Rowe. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his son, Perry J. Ward and his brother, Archie Ward.
