James Yates

James Harold Yates, 74, of Brinson, GA, passed away Monday, May 24, 2011 at his residence. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Messer officiating and will conclude at the Chapel. Mr. Yates was born November 22, 1936 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Clemin Damascus Yates and Alma Lucile Rabon Yates. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1954 and retired with over 25 years of service in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Yates was a salesman for Callahan Building and Supplies, a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and Salem Lodge # 267 F&AM. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Sue Yates of Brinson, GA; his son, Terry Yates and his wife, Jennifer, of Valdosta, GA; his daughter, Rhonda Sanders and her husband, Emory, of Valdosta, GA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
