Mrs. Jane Newman Wilson, age 79, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at her home in Crawfordville, Florida. Funeral service and burial for Mrs. Wilson will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Date and time will be announced later. Jane Newman was born January 28, 1934 in Cleveland, Tennessee. Her parents were John Gaston Newman and Mary Lee Lawson Newman. Jane married Duane Wilson. They moved to Crawfordville in 1973. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Wilson is retired from the State of Florida Department of Insurance. She did volunteer work with elder affairs (S.H.I.N.E.). After her retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker. Jane Wilson is survived by her daughter, Sherry Jane Krause of Wisconsin; step-daughters: Cynthia Wesner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Diane Williamson and husband, Clint, of Grafton, Michigan, and Jane Downey and husband, Keith, of Sydney, Ohio; granddaughter, Rhonda Kois of New Orleans, Louisiana; great-grandchild, Cecily Pennington of Norfolk, Virginia; brothers, Lester Eugene Newman of Tucson, Arizona and Johnny Robert (Bobby) Newman of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Loretta Lee Pryor and husband, Bobby N. of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Jody Pennington and husband, Tony of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and Phyllis Sanderson of Jacksonville, Florida; brother-in-law, Gary Wilson and wife, Cindy of Rockingham, North Carolina and Raymond Wilson of Winter Haven, Florida; sister-in-law, Helen Lake of Winter Haven, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; very good friends, Emily Cadwell and Sherry Smith, both of Crawfordville, Florida; and faithful companion, Pepper.
