Janette Boyd

Mrs. Janette Thompson Boyd, 76, of Tifton died at her home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Friday September 5th in St. Anne's Episcopal Church with Father Lonnie Lacy, Rev. Ellen Richardson and Deacon Leeann Culbreath officiating. The Boyd family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at Albritton - Beaumont Funeral Directors. Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday September 6th at Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Decatur County near Bainbridge. Mrs. Boyd was born in the Vada community in Decatur County Georgia on September 5, 1937 to the late John J. Thompson and Sara Lucile Smith Thompson. Mrs. Janette graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. As an active member of St. Anne's, she enjoyed to read the Bible and participate in Bible studies. Mrs. Boyd was also an avid mission worker. Since the 1970's she played bridge with her friends and she loved to travel extensively. She retired from the Tift County Board of Education after fifteen years, She is survived by her husband of fifty one year's Paul Robert Boyd, Tifton, two sons and daughters -in -law, John Paul Boyd, Sr. and Lisa of Tifton, and Marc Scott Boyd and Patricia of Sylvester, two grandchildren John Paul Boyd, Jr. and Rachel Anne Boyd, one brother and sister -in-law J. L Thompson and Shirley, Decatur County, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, twin sister Nanette and Jimmy Corbett, LaNell and Bobby Cloud, and Shirley Thompson all of Decatur County along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
