Mrs. Janie Ann West Gay, age 70, passed away early Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 7, 2015, at Attapulgus Cemetery in Attapulgus, Georgia. Pastor Jimmy Thomas will be officiating. Janie Ann West Gay was born December 8, 1944, in Camilla. Georgia, to Ira Maston West and Jeannie Mae Jordan. Janie was married to Jackie Earl Gay, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Gay was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She loved to work crossword puzzles and to read her Bible. Janie loved cats, particularly her furry companion, Misty. Mrs. Gay loved flowers and birds but she especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Janie Gay was a wonderful mother who will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Surviving Mrs. Gay are her children, Melisa Dollar of Bainbridge and Denise Wilson and fiancé, Lamar Adams of Pelham, Georgia; grandchildren, William Dollar of Bainbridge, Casey Dollar and wife, Amanda of Attapulgus, Georgia, and Nicki McKown of Tallahassee, Florida; great-grandchild, Brantley Dollar and several others; brother-in-laws, T. J. Gay and wife, Doris of Attapulgus, and Bobby Gay and wife, Sue Ann of Hyder, Alaska; and niece, Rosann Garcia and husband, John of Tuttle, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles (Chuck) Gay.
