Jay Vickers

Jay Vickers, 42, of Brinson, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Jay was born September 30, 1966 in San Diego, CA, the son of Willie Eugene "Sonny" Vickers and Mary Carolyn Hammond Vickers. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1985, served in the United States Navy, was a loan officer and a member of Mount Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rion E. Vickers. Survivors include his sister, Gina V. Lyons and her fiancé Marty Cawvey of Brinson, GA; a niece, Nicole Lyons, and five nephews, Luke Lyons, Wesley Roland, Brandon Vickers, A.J. Glisson and Sam Glisson.
