Jean C. "Little Granny" Floyd, 91, of Brinson, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Brinkley and Rev. Lloyd Markham officiating. Interment will follow at New Ponce De Leon Cemetery in Ponce De Leon, FL with a graveside service at 4:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. CT) with Duane Floyd, Ashby Floyd, William McAnelly, Austin Strickland, Robbie Strickland, and John Billingsley serving as active pallbearers and Roy McAnelly, James McAnelly, Gary Floyd, Mitch Taylor, K.C. McAnelly and Leo McAnelly serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, September 19, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the family's home, 2866 Bethel Road, Brinson, GA. Mrs. Floyd was born June 16, 1917 in Freeport, FL, the daughter of John Cassidy and Cora Lee Garrett Cassidy. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband, William Randolph "Rand" Floyd and her son, Calvin Floyd. Survivors include one son, J.W. "Shorty" Floyd and his wife Betty of Bainbridge, GA; four daughters, Faye Watson and her husband Jim of Dothan, AL, Ina Floyd of Brinson, GA, Opal Howell of Tallahassee, FL and Jennifer Skinner and her husband Thomas of Tallahassee, FL; several brothers and sisters; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren.
