Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanette Eidson Newsome, 74, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Newsome, Bro. Curtis Eidson, and Bro. Randall Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Plesant Baptist Church Cemetery with Aaron Bryan, Michael Webb, Matthew Newsome, Ricky Eidson, Bubba Cook, and Charles Fitzgerald serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the now late Clifford Reynolds, Isaac Hannah, Kenny Newsome, and Michael Rentz. Visitation will be held Monday, September 7, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Newsome was born December 31, 1934 in Decatur County, GA to the now late William and Nony Johnson Eidson. She was married to the now late Lenwood Everette Newsome Sr. Mrs. Newsome lived most her life in Decatur County, was employed as a seamstress and was a member of the The Ladies' Auxiliary VFW Post 4904. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Pelham, GA, former member of Morningside Baptist Church in Bainbridge, GA and loved to read. Mrs. Newsome passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. She is survived by, three daughters, Debra (husband Ronald) Williams of Colquitt, GA, Teresa (husband Dennis) Jones of Norlina, NC, and Rosa Lee Newsome (companion Katie Pendley) of Bainbridge, GA; two sons Charles Newsome and Lenwood Eddie Newsome Jr. (wife Patricia) both of Bainbridge, GA; one sister Mavis Cook of Whigham, GA; one brother Curtis (wife Louise) Eidson of Paxton, FL; three sisters in law, Sue (husband the now late Gene) Eidson of Albany, GA Billy Merle (Husband the now late Isaac) Eidson of Thomasville, GA, and Rena May Taylor of Pelham, GA; one brother-in-law, Claude (wife Sylvia) Newsome of Colquitt, GA; ten grandchildren, Vanessa (husband Todd) Trawick, Ashley (wife Hollee) Pope, Tabitha (husband Anthony) Martin, Kim (husband Greg) Stegall, Suzie (husband Wayne) Stegall, Lindsay N. (husband Bryan) Walden, Matthew Newsome, Emily Newsome, Aaron Bryan, and Ansley Bryan; and twelve great-grandchildren, Sage Cumbie, Savannah Cumbie, Steven Cumbie, Gunnar Pope, Remington Cole Walden, Sydni Avery, Taylor Stegall, Cole Stegall Jr., Michael Webb, Carrie Webb, Nathan Martin, and Hannah Martin. Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lenwood Everette Newsome Sr., her beloved daughter Wendy N. Bryan, two brothers-in-law, Hilton (wife Sylvia) Newsome, James (wife Joyce) Newsome, 5 brothers, twin-brother Gene (wife Sue) Eidson, Isaac (wife Billy Merle) Eidson, James (Wife Mary) Eidson, Junior (wife Peggy) Eidson, John Eidson; and four sisters, Betty Alday, Myra Dolan, Faye Maloy, and Linda Vilene Hopkins.
