Jeannie Groves

Jeannie A. Groves, 86, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at her residence. A service will be planned at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Jeannie was born February 28, 1929 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Lena Anderson. She was a school bus driver in Jefferson County, FL, for many years where she enjoyed interacting with the children. Along with her son Hoyt, while living in Jefferson Co., she volunteered with the fire department. In her younger years, Jeannie was active in the rodeo where she was a successful barrel racer and an accomplished horse trainer. Her family will always remember her strong will, independence, and love of western culture. Survivors include her son, Clifton Hoyt Groves and his wife Scarlet of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Angel Marie Groves of Bainbridge, GA and Bradford Lee Ottinger of Havana, FL; a great-grandson, Tyler McCoy; siblings, Joseph Anderson, Violet McGaffic, Harry Anderson, and Leona Little. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Grabowski, Jay Anderson, Francis Anderson, Martha Dortleff, George Anderson, John Anderson, and Virginia McCoy.
