Jesse Carmichael

Mr. Jesse Murphy Carmichael, age 56, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022, at his home in Eastpoint, Florida surrounded by his loving family. A service to honor Mr. Carmichael will be held at 5:00 pm, September 2, 2022, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Pastor Cheryl Middleton will officiate. A service to honor Mr. Carmichael will be held at 2:00 pm, September 4, 2022, at Forgotten Coast Community Church, 207 US Highway 98, Eastpoint, Florida 32328. Pastor Cheryl Middleton will officiate. Jesse was born November 23, 1965, in Carrabelle, Florida. His parents, Brazil Dail Carmichael and Betty Louise Nowling Carmichael, have preceded him in death. Jesse was a huge bear of a man, but his kind heart was evidence that he was really a teddy bear. He worked over 20 years as a corrections officer in Quincy, Florida. A talented craftsman, he could do it all. You could call him a “Jack of all trades”. Jesse was an avid fan of Florida State football. He loved his boat and fishing. A favorite and “gourmet” meal to Jesse was hot dogs with mayo. Jesse Carmichael was all about his family. He loved them deeply and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jesse will be missed by his family and his many, many friends. Jesse Murphy Carmichael is survived by his children, Amanda Mills and Joshua Buckhaulter of Bainbridge, Georgia, Jay Carmichael (Whitney) of Eastpoint, Megan Carmichael and Amanda Kimbrel of Bainbridge; siblings, Michael J. Carmichael (Sherry) and John “PeeWee” Carmichael of Eastpoint, Charles Carmichael (Becky) of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Penny (Peg) Sutton (Stacy) of Eastpoint; numerous grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
