Mr. Jesse Woodrow Smith, age 51 passed away Monday, February 5, 2007 at his residence in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Sylvania United Methodist Church in Bainbridge, GA with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA with Earl Chambers, Howard Sellars, Eddie Ulmer, Tim Bush, Billy Moore and Doug Harvey serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Smith was born on June 29, 1955 in Bainbridge, GA the son of Berry Carter Smith and Jimmie Myrl Mitchell Smith. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1973 and from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Service in 1977. He was owner/operator of Smith Welding Shop and had worked for Bainbridge Hardware for many years. Survivors include wife, Mary Jo Chambers-Smith of Bainbridge, GA; son, Vance Smith of Albany, GA (formerly of Bainbridge, GA);3 Step-children: Jimmy Watson (Anji) of Sneads, FL, Larry Watson (Tammy) of Dothan, AL and Laura Watson of Leesburg, GA; a sister, Emma Jean Johnson (Phillip) of Bainbridge, GA; his parents, Berry and Jimmie Myrl Smith of Bainbridge, GA; Niece: Whitney Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; and 7 Step-grandchildren.
