Jesse Spooner

Jesse Spooner, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating, and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Cool Springs Cemetery. Brad Kelley, Blake Kelley, Zane Allen, Tyler Allen, Jerry Phillips and David Phillips will serve as active pallbearers. Mr. Spooner was born January 17, 1921 in Attapulgus, GA, the son of James Spooner and Sadie Mitchell Spooner. Jesse graduated from Attapulgus High School, Class of 1940 and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a farmer and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his sister, Mary Phillips of Winder, GA; and his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Spooner was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Barber Spooner.
