Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Nelson, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Nelson was born July 21, 1915 in Clanton, AL the daughter of Jessie Alonzo Davis and Betty Elizabeth Dennis Davis. She was a graduate of Clanton High School, a member of Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church and a member of the Golden Agers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Geter Lee Nelson and her daughter, Carolyn Johnson. Survivors include her three sons, Durward Nelson and his wife Sarah of Climax, GA, Dan Nelson and his wife Carol of Climax, GA and Charles Nelson and his wife Lynn of Buffalo, MO; her son-in-law, Ronald Johnson of Cairo, GA; her sister, Pearl Bell of Tallahassee, FL; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
