Jimmy (J.C.) Josey, 80, of Climax, GA, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Emery Carlton, Elder Cleve Blanton, Elder Fred Burton and Elder Evan Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery with Christopher Josey, Luther Reynolds, Eric Reynolds, Joel Josey, John Josey and Don Searan serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Josey was born January 5, 1928 in Brinson, GA, the son of Charles Joel Josey and Susie Hunter Josey. He attended school in Brinson and later moved to the Bell Dixon Community. In the 1950's he graduated from Bainbridge High School through the G.I. Bill. Mr. Josey served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict with the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Engelhard Corporation in Attapulgus with 28 years of service, working as a dryer fireman and acting foreman. Mr. Josey was an avid fisherman and gardener with a passion to supply fish and fresh vegetables for his family, friends, neighbors and physicians. He was a member of the Community Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Josey, Dance Josey and William Homer (W.H.) Josey and three sisters, Maude Scott, Clara Mae Shepard and Katie Lee Scott. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Boyett Josey of Climax, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Josey and wife Sandy of Climax, GA and Wayne Josey and wife Judy of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jesse Reynolds of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Grady Josey of Panama City, FL; seven grandchildren, Christopher Josey and wife Joelea, Luther Reynolds and fiancé Liz, Eric Reynolds, Joel Josey, Jennifer Searan and husband Don, John Josey and wife Stacy and Nikki Langdon and husband Tim; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
