Jody Ray PoitevientJuly 20, 1981 - December 9, 2023 Jody Ray Poitevient, age 42, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Jody was born July 20, 1981 in Bainbridge, Georgia  the son of Ray Poitevient and Rhonda Sue Parish Poitevient. He graduated from Troy State University with his Master's in Education. He worked at Parker Paint  in sales and was a teacher with the Decatur County School system for several years. He attended churches in Bainbridge and Tallahassee. Survivors include his children, Isaac (14) and Aimee (9) Poitevient and brother, Marcus Poitevient; and other family members.  Family of Jody that has passed away include his parents and his wife of 18 years, Melissa Poitevient. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bainbridge Decatur Humane Society.The Poitevient family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
