Joe Ann Blue Thirsk, 82, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. John's Episcopal Church with The Rev. June Johnson officiating. Box 429, Bainbridge, GA 39818. Joe Ann was born September 1, 1929 in Perry, FL, the daughter of Johney Richard Blue and Marcia Stubbs Blue. She was a graduate of Taylor County High School in Perry, FL and attended Florida State University. She was a retired registrar from Florida State University's Center for Professional Development. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Stevens and her husband, Jim, of Bainbridge, GA and Tina Southwick of Wayne, WV; her grandchildren, Angus Nicholson, Allison N. Hudson and her husband, Will, Laura Nicholson, Sarah Southwick, and Craig Southwick; her great-grandson, Wyatt Hudson; and her brother-in-law, David Thirsk and his wife, Joan. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. "Dick" Thirsk.
