Joe Thomas, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Grace Church with Pastor Andy McQuaid officiating. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Thomas was born January 6, 1926 in Bellepoint, OH, the son of George Frederick Thomas and Maude Pearl Watson Thomas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired food service manager. He was a member of Kline Baptist Church in Kline, SC. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Barbara Jane Thomas of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Tonya Strickland and her husband, Charlie, of Bainbridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Joelle Thomas of Manchester, CT, Matthew Thomas of Warner Robins, GA, and Chuck Strickland of Bainbridge, GA.
