John Griffin

John Allen Griffin, 58, of Climax, GA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewitt Phillips officiating. Griffin was born July 4, 1957 in Climax, GA, the son of Maril Demetrius Griffin and Hazel Edwards Griffin. He spent many years working for Engelhard and the satellite and electronics industry where he earned the nickname "Radar". On his off time he loved to listen to music as well as feed the fish. Mr. Griffin enjoyed his quiet country life to the fullest. Survivors include his daughter, Alisha White and her husband, Paul, of Thomasville, GA; his grandchildren, Macey Griner, Raylin White and Abbigail White; his siblings, M.W. (Griff) Griffin of Albany, GA and Mary Frances Botdorf and her husband, Byron, of Mitchell Co.; his niece and nephews, Dana Rex and her husband, Cliff, Marty Botdorf and his wife, MiMi and Kevin Botdorf; and the mother of his daughter, Teresa Lane and her husband, Roger, of Thomasville, GA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Floyd Griffin.
