John Mcbroom

John W. McBroom, 65, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Panama City, FL. A celebration of John's life and fellowship will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the McBroom residence, 1406 Oak Drive, Bainbridge, GA 39819. Mr. McBroom was born December 23, 1943 in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of John Warren McBroom and Lillian Featherston Smith McBroom. A graduate of the University of Washington, he was a retired Major in the U. S. Army with 20 years of service. He served in Special Forces and also was a pilot during the Vietnam War. In 1986 he became a Financial Advisor and opened an Edward D. Jones and Co. investment office in Bainbridge. He was a member of Bainbridge Rotary Club and served on the Bainbridge College Foundation. Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Raquel D. McBroom of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, John McBroom and his wife Karen of Tallahassee, FL, Michael McBroom of Tallahassee, FL, and Scott McBroom of Portland, OR; his brother, Tom McBroom; and two grandchildren, Lauren McBroom and Matthew McBroom.
