John Willis

Mr. John Wayne Willis, Jr., age 65, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2017, in Greenshade Cemetery. The Rev. David Grubbs will be officiating. The family will receive friends, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. John Wayne Willis, Jr. was born August 2, 1951, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to John Wayne Willis, Sr. and Ruby Mae Cook Willis. He proudly served in the United States Army and had been a member of the local V.F.W. Post 4904. John lived in Bainbridge most of his life. He was a truck driver. John and his companion for over 30 years, Carolyn, enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. John W. Willis, Jr. will be dearly missed by the family and friends he loved so very much. John W. Willis., Jr. is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Carolyn Valencia; children, Peggy, John, and Mark Willis; stepchildren, Anthony Valencia, Greg Valencia, and Tammy Matzke; sister, Ruby (Sissy) Waynell Adkinson and husband, James; 5 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and aunts, Mary Phillips, Cora Cook, and Voncil Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Willis, Sr. and Ruby Mae Cook Willis and grandparents, Emmie and Elvyn Willis and Jesse and Irene Cook.
