Johnnie Dot Hudson Scott Wright, 83, of Thomasville, GA and formerly of Jakin, GA, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at Jakin Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Sheffield and Rev. Denton Headrick officiating. Interment will follow at Open Pond Cemetery near Jakin, GA with David DuPriest, Jr., Adam Scott, Daniel Scott, Jesse Young, Stephen Scott, Colby Young, and Drake DuPriest serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday, April 5, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Wright was born November 3, 1926 in Jakin, GA, the daughter of Waldo Thomas Hudson and Winnie Valeda Harvey Hudson. She was a graduate of Jakin High School, Class of 1942, and attended West Georgia College. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and volunteered at Triad Nursing Home. She was a member of Jakin Free Will Baptist Church and attended Gateway Baptist Church while in Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Wright and her son, Robert P. Wright. Survivors include her son, Rushy Scott and his wife Terry of Jakin, GA; her daughters, Joyce Scott DuPriest and her husband David of North Augusta, SC, and Susie Wright Young and her husband David of Coolidge, GA; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
