Johnny Neely

Johnny Neely, 66, of Chattahoochee, FL, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Grace Community Baptist Church with Rev. Conrad Salter and Patrick Neely officiating. Mr. Neely was born July 1, 1948 in Quincy, FL, the son of Hoyt Douglas Neely and Lilian Juanita Broxton. He was a veteran of the National Guard, serving in Panama and retired as a Treatment Plant Operator with Florida State Hospital. Johnny was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church, was passionate about Georgia football and basketball, and enjoyed morning coffee and conversation with friends at Hardees. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shirley Neely of Chattahoochee, FL; his children, Kim Neely of Crawfordville, FL, Eric Neely of Tallahassee, FL, and Sharon Neely of Marianna, FL; his brother, Tim Neely and his wife, Sandy, of Bainbridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Owens, Chelsey Neely, Cassady Simpson, Damien Guyer, Cheyanne Farmer, Matt Neely, and Mayleigh Neely. Mr. Neely was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Joiner.
