Joseph J. Rumph, 51, of Athens, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Hoyt and Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow at Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Gillem and was a member of First Christian Church. Mr. Rumph enjoyed collectibles and acquiring antiques. Survivors include his mother, Mary Brock Deese of Athens, GA; his brother, Jonathan P. Rumph of St. Augustine, FL; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Reynolds of Monroe, GA and Angela K. Rumph of Bainbridge, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Rumph; his brother, Robert L. Rumph, Jr.; and his sister, Martha Smith.
