Juanita Ortiz

Juanita R. Ortiz, age 64, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, surrounded by her family. Services for Mrs. Ortiz will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Pastor Jorge L. Moreno Ortiz will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00. Juanita was born to Eustacio Ortiz and Agripina Rubio in Brownsville, Texas in April, 1957. She is survived by her seven children: Yasmina, Ulises, Arturo, Roselly, Helio, Erick and Marilyn and twelve grandchildren: Ulises, Sophia, Emir, Victoria, Isabella, Ariel, Jose Angel, Landon, Arianna, Ella, Daphne and Edrick. Juanita was very joyful. Her laughter was contagious to anyone around her. She was adventurous and always looking for new environment and encounters. No matter what circumstances she faced she always looked for the positive in every situation. Her daughters remember her phrase “Hay nos vemos” (see you later) when facing an uncomfortable situation that she didn’t want to embrace. She loved singing and surrounding herself with the people she loved. She was a faithful Christian who devoted her time to help whoever needed her help among her fellow Christian brothers and sisters. She was a grandmother, mother and sister to those within her beloved church. Juanita leaves behind a piece of her life in everyone she embraced.
