Juanita Kelly Phillips, age 85, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her home in Climax, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Phillips will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, at Bethel Baptist Church in Brinson, Georgia. The Rev. Newton Cranford will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Climax, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00. Juanita Kelly Phillips was born December 8, 1936, to Charles Jr. Kelly and Argatha Griffin Kelly in Climax, Georgia. Juanita married Anvie Parker. She and Anvie were married for 40 years until his death. She worked for over 27 years at the Georgia Industry for the Blind. Juanita found love a second time and married David Phillips. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Juanita never met a stranger. She had a “green” thumb and loved to work in her flowers. She was talented in many areas and crocheted beautiful gifts for her family and friends. An independent, strong-willed women, her heart was all about her family. She was an amazing mother, wife and daughter who cared for her own mother for many years. Juanita will be deeply missed by the husband and family she loved so very much. Juanita is survived by her husband, Joseph David Phillips; her children, Carol Ward, Daniel Parker (Martha), Marsha Poitevent (Ed), and Daisy Kennedy (fiancé, Lee James) ; grandchildren, Kristina Johnson (Steve), Valarie Duke (Tim); 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Juanita has brothers, Charles Larry Kelly and J. B. Kelly; sister, Marlene Miller; stepdaughter Patricia Kennedy (Edward); step-grandchildren, Vanessa King and Will King (Desirae); 1step-great-grandson; and lots of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Jr. Kelly and Argatha Griffin; husband of 40 years, Anvie Parker, and brothers, Amos Kelly and Bill Kelly.
