Miss Katherine (Katie) Paulk, 34, of Decatur, GA passed away November 13, 2011. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Billy Beard and Rev. Cynthia Hizer officiating. There will be a graveside service at Oak City Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 16, 2011 with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Miss Paulk was born July 19, 1977 in Montgomery, AL and was a 1995 graduate of Cherokee County High School. Katie attended Young Harris College and graduated from Georgia State University in 2000 with a degree in Journalism. She was a graduate of the the Paralegal program at Emory University and employed by the law firm of Dorough and Dorough in Decatur, Georgia. She served as a mentor with the Big Brother/Big Sister program, volunteered with local soup kitchens, and attended Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Atlanta. Survivors include by her father, David Albert Paulk and his wife, Susan, of Fayetteville; her sisters, Rebecca and Anna; and her mother, Susan Hendricks; and her sister Elizabeth. Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn, GA and Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, GA are in charge of arrangements.
