Kenneth Newberry

Kenneth D. Newberry, 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Bainbridge Healthcare. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Max Bryant officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery. Mr. Newberry was born December 31, 1930 in Donalsonville, GA, the son of Jack E. Newberry and Chloe Elizabeth McLendon Newberry. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1949, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Newberry was the owner and operator of Newberry Service Station for over 23 years and was the superintendent of the City of Bainbridge Sewage Treatment Facility for over 18 years. Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Joanne Cloud Newberry; his sons, Keith Newberry and his wife, Carolyn, of Bainbridge, GA and Dale Newberry and his wife, Annette, of Bainbridge, GA; his grandchildren, Keith Newberry, Jr. and his wife, Lee Ann, of Athens, GA, Cara Newberry and her fiancé, Jerry Gerdes, of Lafayette, LA, and Kadee Newberry of Augusta, GA; his sisters, Valda Ann Babcock of Bainbridge, GA and Elise Floyd and her husband, Melvin, of Bainbridge, GA.
