Mr. Kevin Carl Barker, age 55, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at his home in Climax, Georgia. Services for Mr. Barker will be held Thursday, June 25, at 11:00 am, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. James Scarborough will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00.
Kevin Carl Barker was born March 5, 1971, in Brunswick, Georgia, to William Carl Barker and Shirley Ann Kelly Barker. He grew up in Brunswick and Vero Beach, Florida. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a homebody that deeply loved his family. He enjoyed hanging out with his brother and loved fishing. Kevin had a huge heart and stood up for anyone being mistreated. He was very protective of those he loved and would always stop his vehicle to avoid hitting a turtle, rabbit, rooster, whatever may be in the road. He was a truck driver and worked for Mike Floyd Paving and Excavating. Kevin has been married to his soul mate, Vivian Lee Johnson Barker, for 32 years. He will be deeply missed.
Kevin Carl Barker is survived by his wife, Vivian Lee Barker of Climax; his brother, Derrick Barker of Darien, Georgia; children, Matthew Gregory (Elizia) of Tucson, Arizona and Michael Roberson (Shelby Jo) of Florida; and grandson, Lars Gregory. He was preceded in death by his parents.
