Lamar Willis

Lamar Henry Willis, 58, of Whigham, GA, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be held at Blackjack Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Lamar was born August 27, 1952 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Laura Annette Willis and Joseph Edward "Ed" Willis, Jr. He was a truck driver for many years. Survivors include his sons, Harvin Willis of Climax, GA and Roger Willis of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Kimberly Perry and her husband, Robert, of Bainbridge, GA; his brothers, Leonard "Lenny" Willis of Slidell, LA, Lynn Willis of Midland, TX, Marvin Willis of Slidell, LA, Glen Willis of Slidell, LA, and Anthony "Tony" Willis of Slidell, LA; his sister, Myrna Radosta of Slidell, LA; his companion, Brenda Harrell of Whigham, GA; and the mother of his children, Libby Willis of Bainbridge, GA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lance Willis and Larry Willis, and a very special grandmother, Alma Robinson.
