Laverne Mims

Funeral services for Mrs. Laverne Mims, age 71 of Ragland, AL (formerly of Bainbridge, GA) will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cox - Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in Bellview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in the Chapel of Cox - Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Mims was born in Seminole County, Georgia, March 11, 1937, the daughter of the now late Rufus and Verdie Sweatt Bennett. She lived in Georgia until 1970 when she moved to Alabama living there until 1989, when she moved back to Bainbridge, GA and resided there until 1998. She had resided in Ragland, AL since 2007. She was a baker with Albertson's and of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Mims passed away at her residence in Ragland, AL Sunday, March 8, 2009. She is survived by three daughters Elizabeth Baxter and Tyna Bagwell both of Ragland, AL and Karen Trento of Davie, FL, seven grandchildren and thirteen great granchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joel Mims and one son Anthony Mims.
