Lazarus Martin

Mr. Lazarus Martin, Sr., age 64, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his home in Cairo, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, April 14, 2017, at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Whigham, Georgia. The Rev. Bob Knight will be officiating. Lazarus Martin, Sr. was born May 11, 1952, in Pearson, Georgia, to John Clay Martin and Charlie Mae Wimberly Martin. The family later moved to Grady County, where he spent most of his life. He was a happy, generous person, who never met a stranger. He loved to talk, flirt, and joke around. Lazarus loved to work. He loved his family dearly, each and every one of them. Lazarus Martin, Sr. is survived by his children: Loretta Folsom and her husband Gary, Sheila Warren, Gloria Brinson and her husband Todd, Betty Martin, and Lazarus Martin, Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany Starling, Michael Hartley, Brandon Warren, Elizabeth Brinson, Tatyana Brinson, Corie Brinson, Layonnie Brinson, Taleah Brinson, Alana Brinson, and Thomas Brinson; great-grandchildren, Sadie Starling, Cadan Sparks, Emily Sparks and Ava Sparks; 4 sisters and 4 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Charlie Mae Martin; brother, John Martin; daughter, Mary Music; and two grandchildren, Daina Marie Hartley and Casey Lee Warren.
