Leon Eugene Pyles, 65, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Dean, Rev. Donna Bevels, and Rev. Tommy Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, GA with Miles Donalson, Mike Cutchens, Gary Brown, Jerry Brown, J. R. Brown, and Harold Stewart serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Pyles was born March 17, 1946 in Whigham, GA, the son of Charlie Jefferson Pyles and Alice Ponder Pyles. He was a sergeant in the United States Army, serving from 1965 through 1967. Mr. Pyles was a mechanic at Kirksey Ford for ten years and retired from Amoco Fabrics. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Brown Pyles of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Diane P. Brown and her husband, Joe, of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, Marvin E. Pyles and his wife, Charmaine, of Bainbridge, GA and Harold Stewart of Bainbridge, GA; his sisters, Eunice Bragg of Tallahassee, FL and Frances Cutchens of Whigham, GA; and his four grandchildren, Jesse Brown, Ty Brown, Jonathan Pyles and Daniel Pyles. Mr. Pyles was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie L. Pyles and his sisters, Marjorie Jane Harrell and Faye Hardy.
