Mrs. Lessie Smith Sims, 91, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007at St. John's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge, GA with Father James H. Clendinen officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Mike Pruett, Jason Wells, Rich Wynn, Rhett Thompson, Stephen Martin and Alex Halimeh serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1505 Twin Lakes Drive in Bainbridge. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Sims was born on August 30, 1915, in Abbeville, GA, to the late Oswald Lee Smith and Bessie Howell Smith. She graduated from Abbeville High School and attended Georgia State College for Women. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Sims. Survivors include a son, Charles F. Sims and wife Merium of Byron, GA; two daughters, Sue S. Hollis of Bainbridge, GA and Jenny S. Herring and husband Bill of Bainbridge, GA; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth H. Wynn, Candi S. Pruett, Julie H. Martin, Claire S. Wells, Susan H. Thompson, Cade Herring, and Jake Herring; and 7 great-grandchildren.
