Lewis Odell Ellis, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Zion Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Love officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Tony Kennedy, Jessie Parrish, Jeff Parrish, Gene Parrish, Fred Walker, Jr., and William Godwin serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, 2008 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the residence, 567 Jacksontown Road, Bainbridge, GA. He was a retired millwright with Bainbridge Machine Company and a member of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise Ellis of Bainbridge, GA; a son, Dale Ellis and wife Peggy of Bainbridge, GA; six daughters, Margie Odom and husband Jim of Bainbridge, GA, Mary French of Meigs, GA, Merle Massey and husband Tommy of Calvary, GA, Judy Holt of Bainbridge, GA, Donna Tomlinson and husband Ted of Bainbridge, GA, and Pamela Manor and husband Michael of Canon City, CO; three sisters, Evelyn Peterson of Bartow, FL, Gladiss Rhodes of Reynoldsville, GA, and Jean Riley and husband Tom of Blakely, GA; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
