Linda Penn Barber, 104, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating and will conclude at the chapel. A private interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mrs. Barber was born October 28, 1906 in Monticello, GA, the daughter of Joseph Linwood Penn and Fannie Davis Blackwell Penn. She was a resident of Bainbridge for over 75 years and worked diligently as a homemaker raising her family. Mrs. Barber was the oldest member of First United Methodist Church, the last surviving founding member of Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and a Life Member of Circle No. 4. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Turner Franklin Barber. Survivors include her son, Turner Franklin Barber, Jr. and his wife Marcia of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Linda Lee Barber of Charleston, SC; her sister Victoria Penn Paschal of Monroe, GA; her grandchildren, Susan Barber Riser and her husband Jimmy of Columbia, SC, Joseph Mack Barber and his wife Betsy of Macon, GA, Franklin Curtis Barber and his wife Michele of Gray, GA, Parrish Lee Brown of Atlanta, GA, and Marci Brown Robinson and her husband Dan of Fairfax, VA; her great-grandchildren, Lauran Riser, Jamie Riser, Bayne Barber, Lindsay Barber, Wolff Miller, Patrick Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Scarlet Barber, and Levi Barber; her niece, Mary Jim Penn Cantera of Monticello, GA; her nephews, J. D. Penn of McDonough, GA, Linwood Callaway and his wife Carolyn of Griffin, GA, and Joe Penn and his wife Cheri of Bay Minette, AL; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
