Lois Jessen Curry, 69, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, GA with Curtis J. Curry, Jr., Craig J. Curry, David A. Curry, and Scott Humbel serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 101 W. Water St., Bainbridge, GA 39817. Mrs. Curry was born May 14, 1939 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Einer Jorgen Jessen and Emma Lillian Phillips Jessen. She was a graduate of Luther High School, Class of 1957, was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Curry dedicated her life to volunteering with youth activities and organizations in the Bainbridge community, including Scout Leader and swim meet director for over 25 years. She lovingly participated in her children's and grandchildren's lives and activities. Survivors include her husband of forty-six years, Curtis J. Curry of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, Curtis J. Curry, Jr. and his wife Mary of Tampa, FL, Craig J. Curry and his wife Page of Tallahassee, FL and David A. Curry and his wife Jamie of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Deborah Humbel and her husband Scott of Largo, FL; seven grandchildren, Trey Curry, C.J. Curry, Cameron Curry, Megan Curry, Caroline Curry, Jordan Humbel and Jona Humbel.
