Lois Ann Dix, 71, a ten year resident of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving husband, their children, family, many friends throughout the community and the compassionate staff at Wiregrass Hospice. The Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Joseph Church. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be celebrated by Rev. Roberto Mena, S.T. and Rev. Thaddeus Searles, S.T. The family will receive friends immediately following the Funeral Mass in the church parish hall. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorial donations, may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 192, Bainbridge, GA 39818. Mrs. Lois was born November 23, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence B. Davis and Helen Meyers Davis. She was an active and devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a board member of the Council of Catholic Woman and a member of the Grey Ladies. Mrs. Lois dedicated her adult life to serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while raising her seven children. For twenty-three years she accompanied her husband who was a senior U.S. Army officer. Following her husband's retirement, they relocated to Ft. Myers, FL and eventually to Bainbridge, GA in 1999. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Marie Dix in 1988 and her son, Daniel Dix in 2001. Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Richard A. Dix of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, Michael Dix of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Dix of Woodstock, IL, and Ryan M. Dix of Gainesville, FL; two daughters, Cecelia McMillan of Bainbridge, GA and Laura Dix of Smyrna, GA; five brothers, Charles Davis of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Larry Davis of Cincinnati, OH, Michael Davis of Dayton, OH, Patrick Davis of Dayton, OH and Robert Davis of Prior Lake, MN; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
