Lois Gee

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lois Hoyle Jones Gee, 92, of the Branchville Community in Mitchell County, will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Branchville United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with H.B. Edwards, Richard Jones, Beech Williams, Shannon Williams, Jerry Jones, Joe Curles, Bill Cooper and Wayne Fitzgerald serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Gee was born April 12, 1916 in Youngstown, FL to the now late Fred and Alice Nixon Jones. She was married to Austin M. Gee for 54 years until his death in 1992. While living in Bainbridge she and her husband owned and operated Gee's Drive Inn Restaurant from 1956 until 1974 when they retired and moved to their home in the Branchville Community near Camilla, GA. She was a member of the Branchville Untied Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Camilla. Mrs. Gee passed away at the home of her daughter in Mobile, AL Sunday October 12, 2008. She is survived by two daughters; Annette (Husband George) Ford of Quincy, FL, and Donna Ward of Mobile, AL; one brother, Robert L. (Wife Vay Nell) Jones of Ord, NE; four grandchildren, Charla (Husband Dean) Henderson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mark (Wife Rita) Ford of Gainesville, FL, Alice Kaye (Husband Michael) Emery of Brooker, FL, and Lisa Pittock of Fairhope, AL; eleven great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
