Lou Phillips

Lou Ellen Phillips, 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Phillips and Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Craig Phillips, Leon Barwick, Heath Barwick, Steve Phillips, Bobby Durham, Ken Harrison and Denny Powell serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Phillips was born February 4, 1935 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Harvey "Papa" Durham and Susie Luckey Durham. Lou Ellen loved her family. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church, but had several church families and loved each of them dearly. Survivors include her children, Terry W. Phillips and his wife, Theresa, of Quincy, FL, Kaye Phillips Cook and her husband, Ronnie, of Bainbridge, GA and Sherrie Phillips Bailey and her husband, Doug, of Bainbridge, GA, Graham Phillips of Quincy, FL; her grandchildren, Leon Barwick, Heath Barwick, Amanda Murkerson, Steven Phillips, Meighan Phillips, Morgan Bailey, Matthew Cook and Jennifer Cook; her great-grandchildren, Gracie Barwick , Maddox Murkerson, Kennedy Barwick, Judson Murkerson, Harmony Davis and Aleigha Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Judson H. Phillips; her son, Steve H. Phillips; her siblings, Helen Rentz, Sue Calhoun, Willie Tom Andrews, Mary King, Robert Durham, Dewey Durham, Pauline Barnwell, Robert Durham, Lamar Mock, Jessie Durham, Mary Cummings, and Eddie Durham.
