Mrs. Louise Floyd Sims, 87, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, FL. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Sims was born June 22, 1923 in Colquitt, GA, the daughter of Joshua Franklin Floyd and Rannie Mae Knight Floyd. She retired with 25 years of service as a secretary for Independent Life and Accident Insurance Company, was a member of First Baptist Church, and volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross Gray Ladies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sims and her brother, Joseph Milton Floyd. Survivors include her son, David Sims of Franklin, MA; her daughter, Patsy Scharnikow and her husband Bill of Panama City Beach, FL; her sister, Gladys Glover of Houston, TX; her brother, Billy Floyd of Houston, TX; her sisters-in-law, Jimmie Lou Floyd and Debbie Floyd; four grandchildren, Julie Hewitt, Christopher Sims, Jessica Schopper, and Meredith Sims; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
