Lucile Martin

Lucile Sellers Martin of Jacksonville, FL passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital. The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with visitation immediately following. Interment will be in Oak City Cemetery. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Martin was born in Ashford, AL, the daughter of John Sellers and Ella Harrison Sellers. She was a graduate of Dothan High School and the University of Alabama, and attended Los Angeles Art Institute. A very well known artist, she was a painter of portraits and an accomplished musician. She was a founding member of the Jacksonville Art Museum, a member of the Bougainvillia Garden Club, Cummer Gallery of Art, The Seminole Club, Timuquana Country Club, and Riverside Park United Methodist Church. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, George Cecil "Pete" Martin. Survivors include her daughter, Cecile Martin Pearsall of Jacksonville; FL, one grandson, Brad Pearsall and his wife Sarah of Key Biscayne, FL; and two great-grandchildren, James Pearsall and Grace Pearsall both of Key Biscayne, FL.
