Lucille Smith

Mrs. Lucille Thurman Smith died Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2011, 11:30 a.m., at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Williamson will be officiating. Interment will follow in Swearingain Cemetery in Miller County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Lucille Thurman was born November 8, 1915, in Geneva County, Alabama to Wren and Lizzie Morgan Thurman. She has lived in Decatur County since 1952. Prior to this, she lived in Miller County. Lucille married Rudolph Smith, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She retired in 1985 from Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company of Bainbridge, after 30 years of service. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Smith of Warwick, Georgia, and son, Charles Smith of Roanoke, Alabama. She has 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
