Luther W. Smith, Jr., 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his residence. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Smith was born August 30, 1953 in LaGrange, GA, the son of Luther Wilburn Smith and Mary Elizabeth Boswell Smith. He enjoyed fishing and Georgia football. Mr. Smith enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a self employed carpenter and attended Trinity Reformed Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. Survivors include his children, April Milstein and her husband, Brad, of Fayetteville, GA, Brent Bailey and his wife, Paige, of Washington, GA and Will Smith of Bainbridge, GA; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Boswell Smith; his siblings, Eugene Smith and his wife, Julie, of Griffin, GA and Matthew Smith and his wife, Becky, of Crestview, FL; his grandchildren, Christian, Alex, Parker, Slade, Brenton, and Joshua; his former wife and good friend, Leah Smith of Bainbridge, GA; nieces, Madison, Samantha, Teresa, Elaine, and Tammy; and a sister-in-law, Lavon Farmer. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby Farmer and Jane Griffies.
