Lyle Anthony Nichols, age 57, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away May 15, 2015, after a courageous battle against Pancreatic Cancer. Lyle was born in Glendale, California, to Davis Lee and Lois Ann Nichols, graduated from Oxnard High School in Ventura County, California, and eventually settled in Tallahassee, Florida, before moving to Port St. Lucie approximately 15 years ago. He was a U.S . Navy veteran. Lyle used his construction knowledge as a Building Plans Examiner for the City of Port St. Lucie. His creative and innovative building, mechanical and electrical skills translated into a lifetime of diverse projects. Lyle's will be most remembered for his sense of humor and calling to generously help friends in need. Lyle was patriotic and passionate about liberty. He actively supported The Heritage Foundation, National Rifle Association, and Front Line Defenders. From an early age, Lyle enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, boating, fishing and playing the trumpet. Later he developed an interest in playing the guitar, organic gardening, and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the New England Patriots football team. Lyle was a beloved father, son, and brother who is survived by his sister, Dena L. Nichols, of Port St. Lucie, FL; half-sister, Angela Dailey, of Fairfield, MT; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Will Armstrong, of Tallahassee, FL; daughter, Didi Shiree Nichols, of Alabama; four nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Davis Lee Nichols. An informal gathering of friends and family will take place Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Lyle's home.
