Mabel Fay Williams Hogue, age 85, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at her home in Attapulgus, Georgia, surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be held at Welcome Methodist Church Cemetery, Taylor, Arkansas.
Mabel was born April 16, 1941, in Olla, Louisianna, to Preston Williams and Ura Bellar Williams. She married Alton Leron Hogue, and they raised three wonderful children. Mabel was a busy homemaker. She baked and decorated cakes, all sorts, including beautiful wedding cakes. She was a talented seamstress and would sew for the public. She made wedding dresses for many in her family. An avid bow hunter, she loved to go deer hunting. She received Woman of the Year titles as a bow hunter. Mabel was a hard worker and deeply cared for her family. She will be dearly missed.
Mabel Hogue is survived by her children, David Hogue (Susie), Wayne Hogue (Robin), and Glenda Hogue Worsham (Paul); grandchildren, Casey Hogue Delacerda (John), Tamera Hogue Lockey (T.J.), Wendy Worsham Spivey (Doug), Nicki Worsham Eakin (Tray), Joshua Worsham, Landon Hogue (Aubrey) and Grant Rogers; great-grandchildren, Schuyler Wilcox, Jack Blume, Maddie Blume, Eli Hogue, Harley Hogue, Miracle Spivey, Alex Spivey, Madison Eakin Hurley, Zachery Eakin, Chloe Eakin, Lona Eakin, Mason Hogue, Rosemary Hogue, Wesley Hogue, and Miles Hogue; great-great-grandchildren, Jackson Hurley and Madeline Hurley (due in September); brothers, Virgil Williams and Jesse Williams; nieces and nephews, Curtiss Glen, Sharon, Jeanie, Steven, Karen, Mark, Michelle, Jaime, Crystal, Amber, and Davin; and many great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Elmer Middlebrooks, and sister Donna Couch.
